Michigan lawsuit over COVID risks for disaster cleanup workers ends in settlement

A lawsuit alleging that disaster-recovery workers were put in unsafe, overcrowded conditions during early pandemic cleanup work in mid-Michigan has been resolved through a confidential settlement, the Sugar Law Center for Economic and Social Justice announced this week.

Jury awards $4 million to man whose eye was β€˜squished like a grape’ by Clinton Township cop

A federal jury on Monday found that a Clinton Township cop used excessive force during a non-emergency encounter, awarding $4 million in compensatory damages and $50,000 in punitive damages to Daniel Reiff, who was left blind in one eye after being punched in the face by the officer.
