Junior Myonna Hooper, a West Bloomfield High graduate, scored a career-high 24 points in the University of Detroit Mercy’s 73-66 win over Bowling Green, earning the Titans their first win against BGSU in 11 tries, and herself Horizon League Player of the Week honors.

Hooper was 7-for-9 shooting from the field, 2-for-4 from 3-point range, and 8-for-11 from the free-throw line, adding four assists and two rebounds in the Titans’ season opener.

Hooper started 45 games for the Titans over the last two seasons, leading the team in assists each of the last two years.

Anna Lassan, a freshman from South Lyon East, came off the bench to score five points in her collegiate debut.
