Family identified the victim as 28-year-old Alex Habib. His wife, Danielle, tells us Habib was a devoted husband and father of two to a 1-year-old daughter and a 3-month-old son.
Danielle tells 7 News Detroit he worked two jobs to provide for the family, including as a server at Jim Brady's in Royal Oak, where he was set to work a double that day.
"I wish that they would, you know, find an alternative way to track these people down," Danielle told us on Sunday night. "Alex was an innocent bystander. He left behind multiple ... people that loved him and cared about him, and he was, he was innocent, you know ... moving about his day and ... he was killed over, you know, something that could have been avoided."
Saturday afternoon, the staff at Jim Brady's in Royal Oak closed for lunch as they mourned the loss of Habib. The 28-year-old, who had only started his job there in December, quickly became a beloved part of the team.
"Alex immediately became such a big part of our family, and its such a senseless loss," said Tom Brady, who is the owner of Jim Brady's. "The family, I cant even imagine. A son was lost, a husband was lost, father was lost. My team is devastated."

Brady says he and his staff have been working to get the word out about the crowdfunding campaign as the young family faces a long road of healing ahead.
Since the crash, donations have been pouring in to support the young family left behind. If you'd like to help, the family has started a GoFundMe that you can donate to at this link.
"Our heart breaks for those guys, and theres a family here that will be connected to Danielle and Nora and Santi and Dale and their whole family for as long as were around. Their family got bigger," Brady said. " I mean, really, the world lost a lot when they lost Alex."
Habib also worked at K&M Tire Wholesalers in Oak Park. The staff there say they were shocked to get the news of his death.
"Disbelief, you know. I didnt know how or why. I just knew what happened, and then I found out some details later, which was heartbreaking," said Randy Burt, who worked with Habib at the tire warehouse.
The staff there say Habib was known to always talk about golf and his family: two things he loved.
"He was super kindhearted, really nice, really funny guy. He used to do pranks a lot on the guys here, loved his family, always talked about them," Joe Maffeo said as he remembered Habib's six years with K&M.

Warren police say that they got mutliple calls about people stealing Kias at Warren Manor Apartments, near 8 Mile and Dequindre.
When police got there, they saw a black Kia Optima fleeing the area and tried to pull them over before the chase started. The teens then drove north on Warner before turning onto 9 Mile towards Dequindre. At the intersection of those two roads, the teens ran a red light and crashed into the driver of a white Lincoln sedan heading south.
The impact from that crash caused the teens to crash into the restaurant.
All four teens tried to run on foot but were quickly arrested. Police determined that the car was stolen, finding a handgun in the vehicle. They also found another stolen Kia that was originally at Warren Manor Apartments.
The woman driving the Lincoln was hospitalized for what police call 'very minor injuries.'

According to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office, Gireesh Velugubanti, a practicing neurologist, was a customer of the Sonesta Suites trafficking ring.
The prosecutors office says three people are facing trafficking charges related to the ring: Antione Fulgiam, Chanel Rackard, and Sherri Gress.

Royal Oak doctor arraigned on sex trafficking charges
Β Velugubanti allegedly texted Fulgiam to arrange sex with trafficking victims and purchase drugs. He also allegedly messaged that he was unhappy with one of the trafficked sex workers, telling Fulgiam to warn the victim that her free medical care may end.Β
Velugubanti is charged with Human Trafficking Enterprise Resulting In Injury/Commercial Sexual Activity and Conspiracy To Deliver A Controlled Substance Less Than 50 Grams.
This defendants alleged behavior is especially shocking, said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald in a statement. According to police investigations, he effectively ransomed health care in order to exploit one or more victims. The first rule of the medical profession is to do no harm. There are few things a doctor can do more harmful than to allegedly expect sex as a condition for care.
Velugubanti was arraigned on the charges on Friday. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
The judge set his bond at $500,000 cash surety, no 10%, with a GPS tether and other restrictions.

A 26-year-old Detroit man drowned in Cass Lake on Sunday, the Oakland County Sheriffs Office confirmed.
According to the sheriffs office, the man, who did not know how to swim, may have thought the water was shallow when he left the boat, but it was actually 55 feet deep.
Officials say the victim was on a 20-foot boat with four other people, and the boat had been trolling over a sandbar in the lake before moving to deep water. After the victim went in, a friend reportedly tried to help him, but officials say the victim panicked and the friend could not hold him.
Officials say they received the 911 call around 4:15 p.m. After sorting through conflicting location information, the sheriffs office said they got to the victim within six minutes of figuring out his approximate location and began performing CPR.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died, officials say.
With the onset of warmer weather and a substantial increase in water activity, we urge people to employ flotation devices and wear them if they are not strong swimmers, irrespective of the situation, Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement. Additionally, it is crucial to have life-saving equipment on board boats to rescue individuals in distress. An enjoyable day on the water can rapidly become a tragic moment.
